Police in Morocco seize 1.448 tons of cocaine

Moroccan police said on Tuesday they seized 1.448 tons of cocaine at the northern Tangier-Med Port in the Mediterranean.

The banned substance, consisting of 1,277 tablets, was seized in a container from a vessel flying the flag of a European state, coming from a South American port and bound for a Turkish port, the Moroccan police said in a statement.

This was a joint anti-drug operation with Spanish security services, it said, adding that investigations were underway to determine all those involved in the crimes.
