New figures, representing the last day of December, show 13.670 people unemployed in Cyprus.
Based on the seasonally adjusted data, the number of registered unemployed for December 2023 decreased to 11.838 persons in comparison to 11.909 in the previous month.
In comparison with December 2022, a decrease of 2.462 persons or 15,3% was recorded, attributed mainly to the sectors of financial and insurance activities, accommodation and food service activities, trade, construction, as well as to the decrease recorded for newcomers in the labour market.
