More unsettled weather for Cyprus, Met Office warns

After a windy night across much of southern Cyprus, a new yellow warning for storms has been issued by the Department of Meteorology, effective Thursday lunchtime until Friday afternoon.

According to the bulletin, isolated storms are expected to affect the island, while the winds will strengthen.

The intensity of the rain will vary between 35 and 55 millimeters per hour.

The bulletin comes after a period of unstable weather which saw damage to properties in Limassol on Wednesday due to high winds.

Scattered, blustery showers have already developed along southern coasts, especially in the Larnaca district,  but some brighter spells are possible between showers.
